Overview
Now with the development of the market economy, the machinery manufacturing industry and the hardware industry are advancing by leaps and bounds. Bringing a large number of people from different industries to join the ranks. Therefore, many friends have no idea how to purchase machine tools. Introduce the basic purchasing knowledge of press brake to new friends.
The Correct Choice of Manufacturers
Equipment market share. In the Internet age, when you need a product, there will be many manufacturers selling their products to you, constantly boasting about themselves and belittling others. But are these convincing? At this time, the most convincing thing is the market share. Which machine is easier to use and which machine is not of good basic quality.
The reputation of users is very important because they are the front-line people and the most important products. Direct contacts, you must listen to their opinions. Which manufacturers are more suitable, we have organized a brand ranking for reference only: http://www.vigert.com/top-10-press-brake-manufacturers/
How to Judge The Quality
The next thing we want to talk about is the quality of the machine. How do we compare when you don’t know a press brake very well? The first is the size and weight of the machine. The main consumable material used in a machine is steel. Machines that have an advantage in size and weight are generally stronger and of better quality than those that are lighter. The second is accuracy.
To understand the accuracy of a machine, you have to take your own workpieces to test on the machine in the factory, but generally, there is no such condition. What affects the accuracy of the machine is the back gauge, the strength of the vertical plate, and the mold.
Choose The Type of Press Brake
The press brake is divided into manual bending machines, CNC press brakes, and hydraulic press brakes. The press brake is used for sheet bending and is a relatively common large-scale machine. When choosing, it should be purchased according to the conditions of use, working environment, degree of bending, and thickness of the sheet. How to choose the correct type is the first knowledge we master.
Manual Bending Machine
This type of bending machine has a relatively simple structure is labor-intensive through manual operation and is suitable for small-scale processing.
CNC Press Brake
The essence of the CNC press brake is a CNC press brake mold for bending thin plates. The mold consists of a bracket, a worktable, and a clamping plate. By energizing the coil to generate a gravitational force on the pressure plate, the connection between the pressure plate and the base is completed. Clamping of thin plates.
Because the electromagnetic force clamping method is adopted, the pressing plate is made according to the specific workpiece requirements, and the operation is simple. Also, workpieces with sidewalls can be machined.
There are different models of CNC press brakes, the common ones are G type, F type, WC67K type, and so on. The plastic sheet CNC press brake is developed according to the principle of heating, softening, melting, and welding of plastic sheets. It is suitable for the bending of all thermoplastic materials. CNC plastic sheet press brake mold has the following characteristics: direct bending, no need for splicing, no need for grooving, no need for welding rod, its corner appearance is beautiful and watertight.
At the same time, the processing speed is fast, the corner treatment surface is beautiful, and the strength is high. , which transforms manual welding into fully automatic machine operation, improves quality, improves labor efficiency, reduces labor costs, and greatly shortens the production cycle of products.
Hydraulic CNC Machine
According to the different synchronization methods, hydraulic press brake can be divided into torsion axis synchronization, machine-hydraulic synchronization, and electro-hydraulic synchronization. The wave press brake is divided into the upper-moving type and lower-moving type according to the different movement modes.
The hydraulic press brake is mainly used in the sheet metal industry, such as: bending of automobiles, doors and windows, steel structures, etc., forming: V-grooving of metal sheets and other fields. Its structure and working characteristics are all-steel welded structure, vibration relief stress, high machine strength and good rigidity. Hydraulic upper transmission, stable and reliable, mechanical stop, torsion shaft synchronization, high precision. The back gauge distance and the stroke of the upper slider are electrically adjusted, manually fine-tuned, and digitally displayed.
In the actual bending process, various problems will be encountered. In many cases, the influence of bending on other processes must be considered. In many cases, specific problems must be analyzed in detail and the process should be appropriately arranged.
At the same time, in the case of some special needs, the supplier will also manufacture special bending knives, but if the shape of the tool is more strange or the curvature is larger, it will inevitably affect the rigidity of the tool and shorten the tool life. At present, the development of CNC press brake is also facing many challenges, and it is developing rapidly in the application and flexibility of CNC system, CAD and CAPP.
Tooling Selection
For maximum benefit, choose the minimum number of dies that will cover the entire range of metal thicknesses formed in your shop. Stores lacking tribal knowledge, unpredictable applications, and limited budgets should try the 8×2 rule to select die.
- Determine the range of metal thicknesses to be bent. For example, you may need to bend the material 0.030 inches to 0.250 inches thick.
- Evaluate the minimum V die required by multiplying the thinnest metal by 8. In this case, 0.030 inches. The material will require the smallest die, so: 0.030 x 8 = 0.24, which we’ll round up to 0.25.
- Evaluate the required maximum V die by multiplying the thickest metal by 8. In this case, the thickest material 0.250 inches would require the largest die: 0.250 x 8 = 2.
You have now determined the minimum and maximum die 0.25 and 2 inches required. To fill whatever you want in between, start with the smallest V die and double its size. In this case you get 0.5″ of force. i.e. (0.25 x 2 = 0.5). Next, double the 0.5 inches. The mold gets 1.0 inches, then doubles to get 2.0 inches. This gives you at least four different V-die openings to bend from 0.030″ to 0.250″. Materials: 0.25, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 inches.
Summary
Once the selection of the press brake is improper, the production cost will rise, and the press brake cannot be expected to recover the cost. Therefore, several factors must be weighed in the decision.
The most important thing to consider is the part you want to produce, the point is to buy a machine that can do the job with the shortest table and the smallest tonnage. Carefully consider material grades and maximum machined thickness and length.
